The Appellants were charged with and convicted of murder. In convicting
them the High Court relied on confessional statements in which they implicated
one another. On appeal the defence argued that since the confessional
statements were not corroborated they should not have been the basis for
conviction. The Court of Appeal also considered whether issue estoppel applies
in criminal cases.
