In this case the Plaintiffs allege that the Defendant
published a false e-mail, as a result of which the Plaintiffs claim to have
suffered a great deal of damage not only to their personal reputation and
character but also to their tourist business generally. The Plaintiffs sought
to tender the e-mail print out in evidence. The Defendant’s counsel raised a
preliminary objection on a point of law to the effect that an e-mail being part
of electronic evidence is not admissible in civil proceedings.
