The Appellant was charged with armed robbery. He was
convicted in absentia because he jumped bail and was nowhere to be seen.
Much later the Appellant was arrested and started serving the prison term. His
appeal to the High Court was unsuccessful. He appealed to the Court of Appeal
challenging among other things the difference in the value of the property
stated in the charge sheet and that which was adduced in the evidence. He also
challenges the jurisdiction of the court that tried the matter.
