The Appellant was convicted for murder in the High Court. He
lodged this appeal complaining that his defence of insanity was not considered.
He claimed further that his conviction was improperly based on the
uncorroborated circumstantial evidence of the witnesses which was contradictory
and unreliable. It was also presented that the Appellant was wrongly convicted
on the basis of repudiated or retracted confessions without ascertaining its
reliability and or seeking corroborative evidence, thus the prosecution failed
to establish malice aforethought.
