A trial for murder of an accused person was about to
commence in the absence of a committal order by the District Court. Upon
realizing this omission, the Prosecution side informed the High Court that the
District Court had not committed the accused for trial even though the High
Court had already conducted the preliminary hearing. The case was sent to the
Court of Appeal for revision.
