The Appellant together with 11 other persons were charged with and convicted of two offences of armed robbery. They were each sentenced to thirty years’ imprisonment. The Appellant decided to appeal to the High Court against both conviction and sentence. Her appeal was essentially based on two grounds. First, the conviction was based on a wrong analysis of evidence and, second, the conviction was partly based on the evidence obtained from an illegal search. In analysing the evidence, the appellate court noted that there was no evidence that the Appellant was seen at the scene of armed robbery but was seen elsewhere moving stolen properties from one place to another.
