The Appellant was arraigned before the Regional Court at Mfenesini facing two counts namely rape and unnatural offence contrary to the law. He was convicted of both two counts and sentenced to serve a period of seven (7) years on each counts with an order for the two sentences to run concurrently. In addition, the Appellant was ordered to pay Tshs. 1,000,000/= as compensation to the victim. Aggrieved by the conviction, sentence and compensation order the Appellant has preferred this appeal.
